When Shadows Catch Me

when shadows comeThe only shadows that catch me
Are moonlight shadows,
Where they find me at my weakest,
Grab me and I cannot let go.

I’m caught over on the other side,
Back where it’s always dark.
That’s where I get carried away—
So hard to push through to the light.

At two-thirty in the morning,
That’s when moonlight shadows come,
Enter into my room when I cannot sleep,
Take me far away where I weep till dawn.
