Strings and Loops and Flow

Walking down stone steps
I stood upon the dock,
Looked out across the lake,
Water flowing slowly….

Inside my pocket, I found a string.
Tied it in a large circle,
Flung the loop into the lake,
Took white flowers and tossed them in.

Life is filled with flowing blossoms,
Thoughts looping in and out of mind,
Water moving through worlds of
Strings and loops and flowers.

I have yet to catch a fish with flowers as bait,
Though I see them flashing close,
Gold and silver just below the surface,
Then moving out of sight,
Swimming in a wider flow.
Perhaps that is close enough for now.
